 I started doodling in Sketch Book pro and I decided to go all the way and color one. Below is the original sketch.

I don't know what this character's deal is but he seems to be on some sort of rant about one thing or another.

Hobbes Sketches

I have recently discovered a collection of Calvin & Hobbes in my house, and I decided that it would be a great to study Bill Watterson's style (particularly Hobbes).

Hand structure

A quick study I did using a book I picked up in an art store about hands and feet. I've found it very useful, the book is titled Drawing Hands & Feet by Giovanni Civardi. These two hands were done entirely in pen, a medium I haven't thoroughly explored yet but one in which I am really enjoying myself.   

Doodle for Google

I entered a contest that Google had set up in which the winner was to have their doodle on the Google logo for a day. I didn't win (I think the winning doodle was about pirates or something),so I am putting my doodle on this blog in the hopes that somebody might see and enjoy it. By the way it takes place in the Jurassic era.

Sketches

That's a raccoon on top and a ferret on the bottom. I drew these after some inspiration from Google images. I might start to make some animated shorts over the summer.

Made this one for my new profile picture. Don't let it stare too deep or it might take your soul, just kidding.

I did this one a while back, I found it in my files while looking for the image of the raccoon with the broken leg.

broken leg

Broke my fibula Thursday. I was sparring and took a bad step; the end of the bone broke off but it was a clean  brake and the doctor said that it should heal back nicely. Anyway I've been on bed rest and have spent a lot of time just browsing on the computer. Here is a quick sketch I did on my tablet and I plan to clean it up and color soon.

And here is the final product. I am still experimenting with shadows and depth, though there isn't too much here.

My name is Richard Galan and as you have probably guessed I have started my own blog (If you have not deduced this by now I suggest seeing a doctor).
